AARP OOPS

According to PresBO, the AARP supports his health care reform plan.

In his New Hampshire town hall meeting, he stated

"we have the AARP onboard because they know this is a good deal for our seniors." He added, "AARP would not be endorsing a bill if it was undermining Medicare."
It appears he misspoke.

AARP's chief operating officer Tom Nelson quickly fired back, saying, "indications that we have endorsed any of the major health care reform bills currently under consideration in Congress are inaccurate."

But no fear.

Stand up comedian wannabe Bob Gibbs steps in to tell us what Mr. Fixit really said.

"AARP has said they are certainly supportive and have been for years on comprehensive health reform," Gibbs said. "I don't think the president meant to imply anything untoward. I think he discussed the notion that AARP is supportive of legislation -- or, I'm sorry, an agreement that would -- that would fund filling the doughnut hole for seniors as part of Medicare Part D, as well as additional savings for comprehensive health care reform."
It seems TOTUS has his own spin.

What a day in New Hampshire. Big Guy decides to ad lib one of his patented comparative examples to simply things for the simple country folk we were talking to today, and he goes off script to do it. Wow.

Of course, comparing Big O's health care plan to the post office makes sense ... if you're talking about the dead letter office. That'll teach him to go off script.
There you go.

Thanks to Nick Perry for the tip.
