WooHoo!
Covered CA announces a 23.7% drop in the number of new sign-ups -- that's huge. Renewals up by 7.5% #ACA— Ana B. Ibarra (@ab_ibarra) January 30, 2019
Oh.
Regular readers may recall that the Golden State recently "enacted legislation that permanently establishes different enrollment dates within the state, both on and off-exchange. From now on, open enrollment in California will begin on October 15, and end on January 15. So for 2019 coverage, California residents will be able to enroll starting on October 15, 2018, and will have until January 15, 2019 to enroll."
So an extra 2 months to sign up, and they still fell short.
Way short.
Hunh.
