The next time you fill up your car, ask yourself where those dollars go.
Sure we buy a lot of oil overseas, but not all of it flows to the middle east. Some of it flows to oil rich Nigeria.
Oil is a multi-billion dollar industry for Nigeria, and some of the money is used to fund state hospitals.
But all is not well here.
Doctors in hospitals that are funded directly by the state will not touch a patient until they have paid their fees.
How can this be?
No cash, no care in a state funded hospital?
"Attention is not given early enough to patients because they have to pay, and you might find that before a patient can get these things together it may be one or two weeks," he says.
Waiting two weeks to receive health care. Who would have thought that?
